In an interview given to GNN News, Zakir Naik said that women do not need to work for their basic needs. Her father and brother are responsible for her needs before marriage. Whereas after marriage, this responsibility is of her husband.

On the question of women doing jobs, Zakir Naik said, “If women want to do jobs, they can do jobs, but it should not be against Shariat. Before marriage, they should take advice from their father about their jobs, Whereas after marriage, they should talk to their husband, even if they get permission to do a job from the married person, but that job is against Shariat, then it is haraam.

Zakir Naik further said, “Women cannot do media jobs. If a woman comes on TV for 30 minutes, if a man doesn’t feel anything even after seeing a female anchor, then he needs to go to a doctor.” If there is no movement after looking at a woman for 20 minutes, then there is a problem with her mind.”
